About Our Farm
We are a small 5-acre family farm dedicated to growing high quality, heirloom and specialty produce. From starting the seeds, transplanting seedlings, nurturing the plants and finally harvesting our bounty by hand - we don't cut any corners! We are the farmers and pride ourselves in being beyond organic, in which we never use herbicides, pesticides, or GMO seed anywhere on our farm. Our end product is produce the way nature intended it. Our goal is to provide high nutrient content produce with amazing flavor by mainly growing heirloom varieties.

Stewards Of The Land
We are apart of the Stewards of the Land farming community and live within a 50 mile radius of Fairbury, Illinois where The Stewards are located. We are a diverse group with a variety of specialty produce we supply to the community without the use of chemicals.
Plainfield Farmer's Market
Join us for another year at the Plainfield Farmers Market located in the parking lot of the Plainfield Public Library on Sundays this season.

We carefully select our seeds that have not been genetically modified and maintain a healthy ecosystem to provide a healthy source of food. Simply putting seeds into the ground is a major investment of our time and energy.

Here at Oertel's Roots Family Farm we hand pick produce that is in season at peak ripeness. The flavors speak volumes of the hard work we put into maintaining optimal growing conditions!
